About the delivery

How are you today?

The goods were sent on Sept.12th, but they are still on Hong Kong Port now. For all parcels in the Hong Kong must be inspected by the customs strictly now, it will lead to some delay of the delivery. And the FedEX Company do not make sure how long the goods need to be stayed in the Hong Kong Port. So we are sorry that the goods couldn't reach Peru schedule for you.

If any update information about the goods, we will let you know the first time.

Sorry to make you confused. For the oval cabochon glass stones, some of our samples in stock is less than 4 pcs, and we need to keep them to show to our other customers as well. Otherwise, some samples are tested by our customer time by time, so they are not so smooth as before. And we would like to offer you the good quality of all products, even the samples. So we need to produce some items.

 

We told you those size we have in stock, for we want to let you know we don't need to open the new model for them. And if you need, we can show you pictures or very few stones in some sizes.

For the new T10 end cap, pls find attached quottion sheet for reference.

Kindly remind, normally, we only need open mould for the plastic cap, no need open mould for the pin, because we have many standard pins for different caps. But your pin is special, we need open a new mould for productions, so there is # mould fees.

For the unit price, as my understanding, it will be a little higher then normal end caps, due to the step design and special pin.

For samples for test, we just need open the # moulds, we can provide you several free samples at begining.

Honesty speaking, we'd like to grasp any chance to work for you, so even this small end cap, we will do our best to support you, I believe it will bring us more multi-win cooperation opportunities.

在谈这些之前,我想先谈谈信件字体和大小问题。因为文字颜色,文字大小适宜,跟你穿衣服合身一样,让人看着就舒服,这个表面上能打动人,让人对你产生好感,也会觉得你很认真在写这个邮件。下面是常用的英文字体:

1Arial (使用最多的,看着眼睛最舒服) 2Verdana 3Calibri

颜色不要超过三色,一般都是黑色或者蓝色,事实上,有人研究过,蓝色最能引起西方人的注意。对客户来说,比较有吸引力的内容,可以加粗和变色来突出处理。比如有的公司可以提供免费样品,FREE SAMPLES 就完全可以重点突出了。对于文字大小,通常是12磅就好了,但是如果你了解过看信的人,是近视,或者年纪比较大,可以适当把字调整到13-14磅,免得对方看起来很吃力。文字行距大概在18磅左右,不要太紧凑,也不要太松散。

字体和颜色,大小问题解决了,现在我们来看称呼。怎么写称呼,刚入门的时候,也觉得困难,因为写开发信的时候,往往都不知道对方名字,其实一般都可以这么解决:TOPURCHASING MANAGER/PRODUCT MANAGER或者TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

1)不知道对方名字:Dear Friend, Dear, Dear Manager, Dear Director, Dear Your Teams…... Hi,Sir,

2) 知道对方名字:Dear Jone Hi,Jone, Good Day Jone,……

3) 学院派,古板: Dear Madam/Sir 这个在学校,老师一般都会教你们这样写的,事实上,这个太书面化,看起来有点别扭的。

还有,跟老外说Dear,这个是很自然的事情,你不要想歪了,人家的Dear就跟我们握手一样,或者说就跟我们说尊敬的一样。通过这些比较,我们应该发现:称呼要亲切,能拉近与读信人的距离。把握这个原则就好了。

好了,已经称呼人家了,接下来就是主体内容了。其实外贸开发信的主体内容,不需要那么复杂,要把握四不四少原则。即:

1)不长篇大论的介绍公司或工厂 2)不炫耀英文水平

3)不插入超连接或图片 4)不说毫无意义的废话

5)少说从那里得到客人联系方式 6)少用第一人称

7)少用书面语 8)少用中国式英语

外贸函电的精髓就是,简单简单再简单 平时需要多琢磨客人的email,有意识去模仿他们的行文方式和遣词用句,才能慢慢练好,让别人感觉你的email和老外写的一样,就把你当作同类,觉得会有亲切感,比如我有个立陶宛的客人,写邮件开头老写:Good day to you!那么我给他回邮件或者写邮件的时候,也就学他写:Good day to you!未必这样写法很好,但是他习惯这样,那为什么我就不迎合他的习惯呢?

下面是一个自称刚入职的外贸人的开发信邮件一个例子,

比较一下,什么感觉?外贸函电的精髓就是,简单,简单,再简单。你要做的,就是简单明了的告诉看邮件的人,你是谁?你是做什么的,优势产品是什么?你想要做什么?写明白了这些东西就好了!其他的东西,等以后有机会再详细谈。第一封邮件那么长,别人看的那么累,又不认识你,人家不是浪费力气吗?更何况我们自己觉得自己英语水平好,语法好,写的不错,事实上,在老外眼里,可能觉得变样了。特别是很多老外母语也并不是英语,我们把中文意思转化为英文,他们再把英文转化为他们母语,这时间信息经过几次转化和传递,最后可能已经不知所云了。或许你的意思在他们理解来,已经南辕北辙了都有可能。而事实上,从某种程度上来说,老外还是比较懒的。而在一般贸易中,他们大多数人,还是喜欢简单化的语言,而不是很书面化的文字,所以商贸英语课本是课本,实际应用是实际应用的问题,大家一定要注意这个问题哦。

我就有个英国客人,他写的邮件每次看起来很不爽,前言不达后语,很费解,我想,如果我给他写邮件,写长了的话,他会不会也这样觉得,事实上,他上学的时候,不跟我们一样那么注重语法,也不跟我们一样要死板的写作文。但是跟他面对面讲话的时候,就发现非常有条理,非常清晰……

还有,我跟一个意大利老板一起工作过两年,当时候,我们有个宁波的供应商,几乎不能写英语,但是照样跟我们生意做了两年,他很清楚我们需要什么产品,然后PICI PL都有固定模板抄一下,改一下抬头。所以,只要你产品有特色,你了解了客人要什么, 英语有时候不好,照样能把生意做好。并不是邮件要写多复杂多长。

下面列一个帮朋友写的开发信,

这里要插几句话,不插入超连接或图片,是因为第一封邮件,带这些,很可能对方网速不好的时候,影响下载看你邮件,而更严重的是,对于陌生邮件地址,有连接的话,即使是通过畅想外贸管理软件的邮件系统,也可能被对方反垃圾邮件系统默认为垃圾邮件,这样的话,你就惨了。

好了,开发信正文主体写好了,就要谈谈结束语了。结束语部分一般来说问题不大,但是很多人不经意见就喜欢写个什么:Hope you good every day. Be Happy Every day等等这样的中式英语,这个在中国人之间调侃,可能不觉得什么,但是老外看到这里,会觉得你特老土的。事实上,比较简单直接的HAVE A NICE WEEKEND BEST WISHES BEST REGARDS!就都可以了。

最后,就是签名了。开发信,因为是第一封邮件,建议纯文本就好了:

NAME TITLE

COMPANY TEL

FAX EMAIL

WEB

如果不是第一封邮件,建议签名可以设点特色,弄点花样,花点心事,弄的与众不同点,可以把自己产品特色,照片等都可以设计进去。

好了,开发信发出了,就等回信了,如果没有回,也别灰心,很多时候,你得到的电子邮件地址,很可能未必就是你的买家的,石沉大海的情况比比皆是,我们要做的就是继续努力,这个需要勤奋和机遇的。遇见一个人回了,就要努力想办法跟进。必要的时候,可以电话跟进。

还有人在问发开发信要不要设置要求已读回执?我建议还是要回执比较好,有3个好处:

1、你可以看,你发了30封邮件,有多少封是 read,有多少封是 deleted without read ;可以确定自己邮件标题或者内容好不好?

2、事实上,对于已读邮件,你就可以跟进写第2封邮件了,试着发下电子目录了。对于未度而直接删除的邮件,而你又确定他们在做你的产品的话,如果你愿意,可以试着换下标题,再发发邮件;

3、一般回执里邮件地址前,可能有联系人的姓名,这个很有用哦。
