1、作品简介
《论孩子》是由黎巴嫩诗人纪伯伦所写。这首诗的题目虽为《论孩子》，具体内容却是论父母之道的。父母们常忽视了教育最为重要的目标之一--培养独立人格。他们总喜欢干预子女的一切重大人生选择。本诗指出孩子是独立的，是与父母平等的个体，父母只能给孩子以爱，却不能代替他们思想、灵魂的形成。

纪伯伦(1883-1931)，黎巴嫩诗人、散文家、画家。他在黎巴嫩接受了基础教育，曾到法国学习绘[2] 画，1911年起长期定居美国。他是阿拉伯近代文学史上第一位使用散文诗体的作家。主要作品有散文诗集《先知》《泪与笑》《沙与沫》等。他的作品大多以"爱"与"美"为主题，通过大胆的想象和象征的手法，表达深沉的情感和高远的理想。

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.
