Can money buy happiness?Various people have various answers. Some people think that money is the source of happiness. With money, one can buy whatever he enjoys. With money, one can do whatever he likes. So, in their minds, money can bring comfort, security, and so on. Money, as they think, is the source of happiness.
But there are still a lot of others who think that money is the root of all evil. Money drives people to steal, to rob, and to break the law. A lot of people became criminals just because they were in search of money. And in the Western countries, there is nothing that can’t be bought by money. Many people lose their own lives when hunting it.
結尾
I think that money is essential to life and we cannot do without money. But even though money is necessary to life, it can’t buy happiness. Happiness is not something that can be measured by money. It is a state of mind. One can have plenty of money, with which he can buy whatever he wants, and at the same time he is not happy because he is never satisfied or he is troubled by various kinds of problems. Therefore, although money is necessary for a happy life, it can’t buy happiness.
Q:
Money is something. But money is not everything. There are many precious things that we can’t buy with money. How much does time cost? And how much is health? True love? Wisdom? I bet no one knows. They are priceless. Money can buy none of them. So would you still think that money is everything?
2.Money can buy a position, but can you buy respect? Money can buy blood, but can you buy life? Money can buy companions, but can you buy friends? Money can buy sex, but can you but love? If money can buy happiness, can you tell me why we can not buy them?
Money is pursued by everyone. In the past people always said that if you have money, you have everything. But is it true? I don't think so. Money is important, but not omnipotent. We can imagine: we are trapped in a desolate island. No food, no transportation, no communication, no people, nothing is there. In this moment,do you think you really need a check ?
4. There is an old saying goes that “Time is gold and it is difficult for one to use gold to get time”.It’s absolutely right.Time goes by without our noticing.Yesterday had become histroy,it’s beyond redemption. Time and tide wait for no man. How can money buy youth and the young age?
5. Everyone work hard for money, what they get is not only a sense of accomplishment but also a good income and a better life.Compared with the income during our debut into society,we have earned more today. But it doesn’t added our enjoyment. Even more unhappy than before. If money can buy happiness, can you explain why they still feel unhappy?
Happiness lies in private, and wealth is nothing to do.
Besides, a person may lose his reason and go astray if he intends only to seek wealth and indulges himself in leading a luxurious life. For example, there are some government officials who take advantage of their positions to take bribes from the people turning to them forhelp. Obviously, wealth may bring us disasters if we don’t take a proper attitude to it.In my opinion, on no account can we equate happiness with wealth. I also believe that one should never reckon only on wealth to achieve happiness.
Now many people have lost a lot, even their lives because they care too much for money. There is a saying goes that "A man will die for money, like a bird dies for food." Money brings much trouble to people. It can buy rights, but not respect; it can buy a house, but not a family; it can buy the whole Disney Land, but not real happiness.
1.Many of us dream of having thousands and thousands of dollars to spend on anything we desire. We buy lottery tickets, enter contests or spend hours building a business or playing the stock market. We're sure when we have plenty of money,we will be happy. But will we?
2.While having some money does have an impact on our level of happiness, having a lot of money docs not. People in the United States whose income goes from US$20,000 a year to US$50,000 a year are more likely to be happy.
3.But after USS50.000,happiness does not increase as salaries go up. Why is that? It's because we are never satisfied. "We always think if we just had a little more money,we'd be happier," says Catherine Sanderson,a psychology professor at Amherst College. "But when we get there,we're not."
”
4.'The more you make, the more you want. The more you have, the less it brings you joy," says Daniel Gilbert,a psychology professor at Harvard. "We incorrectly assume we'll get more pleasure from more, and we don't."
”
5.The things money can buy don't make you happy either. A lot of research suggests that you won't find the "good life" buying expensive "toys." You finally buy that BMW you've always wanted and it soon loses its appeal. Then, instead of wondering if a new car is what really makes you happy, you decide you just need a different new car. It's an endless cycle.
6.To really be happy, you need to understand what makes you happy in the first place. One secret of happiness: people. Surveys have found that people need people. Those who have five or more close friends are 50 percent more likely to describe themselves as "very happy." Good relationships have a far greater effect on happiness than large raises in salary. Andrew Oswald is an economist at England's University of Warwick. He says,"If you're looking for happiness in life, find the right husband or wife rather than trying to double your salary."
7.So invest your time and energy in people. The payoff is much bigger in terms of happiness!
-Franklin Roosevelt said ‘’Happiness lies not in the mere possession of money, it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.’’
There is a boy around 7 years old and own a lot of money. He can wait on hand and food, travel anywhere and do it any way he like. But think carefully,he will become lazy and never feel the rejoicing of success. Although he is a millionaire but he never knew the meaning of life, needless to say happiness.
In a way, of course, money is really very important to us' all. Without money,we can do nothing and can't live on. But we must know that money can't bring us everything. With money, we can buy many things indeed, but we can't buy knowledge, precious time, true love and so on. These are the most precious things in the world. If a person has none of them, though he has a great deal of money, he is still poor. Not all people can become rich. In order to get more money, some people even break the law, stealing, robbing, cheating or doing something wrong. At last they get punished and even sent to prison.
However, money can bring us not only happiness but also misery. If money doesn't bring people real happiness, it has no value itself. We must know clearly that money doesn't mean everything.
Money Does Not Ensure Happiness
Researchers have found the association between a larger income and happiness is greatly exaggerated and is mostly fantasy.
In a study to be published in the June 30 issue of Science, scientists found that the role of income is less significant than predicted and that people with higher incomes do not necessarily spend more time in more enjoyable ways.
People surveyed about their own happiness and that of others with varying incomes tended to overstate the impact of income on well-being, according to the new study.
Two Princeton professors, economist Alan B. Krueger and psychologist and Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman, collaborated with colleagues from three other universities on the study, being published in the June 30 issue of Science.
The new findings build on their efforts to develop alternative methods of gauging the well-being of individuals and of society.
The new measures are based on people’s ratings of their actual experiences, instead of a judgment of their lives as a whole.
“The belief that high income is associated with good mood is widespread but mostly illusory,” the researchers wrote. “People with above-average income are relatively satisfied with their lives but are barely happier than others in moment-to-moment experience, tend to be more tense, and do not spend more time in particularly enjoyable activities.”
