A recent survey indicated that the number of people accessing the Internet by mobile phone has overtaken the number of Internet users on computers. Online access on mobile phones has risen to 85.8%. The mobile phone has become the fifth mass medium after the traditional four media: television, radio, newspapers and magazines. With online access by mobile phone, Chinese people are enjoying the convenience and benefits of all kinds of new media like MicroBlog, WeChat and podcasts. 8、 中国的农历七月七日是七夕节，是牛郎（Cowherd）织女（Weaving Maid）一年一次相会的日子。七夕节源于一个浪漫的爱情故事：天上的织女和人间的牛郎互相爱慕，结为夫妻，后来却被拆散。二人化作织女星（Vega）和牛郎星（Altair），被银河分隔，遥遥相望，每年只能企盼七月七日在鹊桥（Magpie Bridge）相会。在这天晚上，有情男女都会祈祷姻缘美满。作为中国颇具浪漫色彩的民俗节日，七夕节又被称为“中国情人节”。
Qixi Festival celebrates the annual meeting of the Cowherd and the Weaving Maid on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month in China. The festival originates from a romantic love story. The Weaving Maid in the heaven and the Cowherd down on earth are attracted to each other and eventually get married. But later they are forced to break up. The two become the constellations Vega and the Altair, separated on either side of the Milky Way, and can only expect to meet each other once a year on Magpie Bridge. On that night, men and women that have affectionate feelings for each other will pray for a happy marriage. As the Qixi Festival is a traditional Chinese festival full of romance, it is also known as the “Chinese Valentine’s Day”.
9、 养生气功（health qigong）在中国很流行。每天早晨在公园里，我们都可以看到练气功的人们。作为一种传统的保健运动，气功要求耐心和专注。经过长期的静心修炼之后，那些承受巨大压力的人就能逐渐恢复健康，体健心静（mental serenity）。随着现代科学的发展，传统的养生气功已经发展出新的形式以适应现代社会的需求。
Health qigong is popular in China. Every morning in the parks, we can see people performing this exercise. It’s a traditional health-maintaining exercise, which requires patience and focus. After long-term practice in a peaceful state of mind, those under high pressure can achieve both physical fitness and mental serenity. With the development of modern science, traditional health qigong has evolved into new forms to meet the needs of modern society.
