The Little Prince (French: Le Petit Prince), first published in 1943, is a novella and the most famous work of the French writer and pioneering aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (安东尼·德·圣-埃克苏佩里)
《小王子》（法文原書名為Le Petit Prince），是法國童话作品，法国贵族作家、飞行员先驱安东尼·德·圣-埃克苏佩里（1900–1944）的最著名的作品，于1943年在纽约出版。23年退伍，第二次世界大战期间他重入法国空军。后辗转去纽约开始流亡生活。在这期间，写出、《小王子》（1943）等作品。1944年返回同盟国地中海空军部队。在当年7月31日的一次飞行任务中，他驾驶飞机飞上湛蓝的天空，就此再也没有回来。牺牲时，年仅44岁，成为法国文学史上最神秘的一则传奇。
This small book contains a fairy tale, a story about many things. A little prince lives on a young star. The prince loves his roses, but felt disappointed by something the rose said. As doubt grows, he decides to explore other planet. He passed through various star, afterwards, he arrived the Earth,He and the author met one another in the desert, they gradually have become friends. Finally, he returned to his own star.

Because she is my rose.” .

《小王子》自从1943年在纽约问世以来，被译成42种文字，多次再版，经久不衰。《小王子》曾被多次改编成话剧和电影，盛演不断。《小王子》已被选入许多西方国家的教科书，成为青少年的必读书籍。人们不禁要问，产生《小王子》现象的原因何在？ 我想，法国作家安德烈·莫洛瓦对安东尼·德·圣-埃克苏佩里评论中的一段话或许是对上述问题中肯的回答：“《小王子》在其富有诗意的淡淡哀愁中也蕴含着一整套哲学思想。”“这本给成人看的儿童书处处包含着象征意义，这些象征看上去既明确又隐晦，因此也就格外的美。”

法国1997年版50法郎纸币上的正面头像是圣埃克•苏佩里。安东尼•德•圣-埃克苏佩里一生喜欢冒险和自由，是利用飞机将邮件传递到高山和沙漠的先锋。二战期间，法国被纳粹占领，他去了美国。1944年他在一次飞行任务中失踪，成为法国文学史上最神秘的一则传奇。除了飞行，用写作探索灵魂深处的寂寞是他的另一终生所爱。代表作品有童话《小王子》(1943)，该书至今全球发行量已达五亿册，被誉为“阅读率仅次于《圣经》”的最佳书籍。其它作品还有小说《南方邮航》(1928)、《夜航》(1931)、散文《人的大地》(1939，英译名《风沙星辰》)、小说《空军飞行员》(1942)、《要塞》等。
200法郎的纸币正面头像是居斯塔夫•艾菲尔，法国建筑工程师，设计了埃菲尔铁塔。他是一位法国工程师，金属结构专家，也是一位作家。埃菲尔在欧洲以本世纪在金属建筑上做出重要成绩的最出色的工程师之一而著名。他的成绩就包括在巴黎建造的，以他的名字命名的埃菲尔铁塔，法国的一些巨大桥梁和高架桥及波尔图的巨大铁路桥。
