　　（1）一些带有迷信观念的外国人最忌“黑色星期五。Black Friday一般指星期五又逢l3号的耶一天，迷信者会尽量减少外出以免灾祸临头black art是不可思议的妖术，在中古时代的欧洲，如被怀疑具有black art的人是要被判处死刑的。

　　（2）black sheep字面上的意思是“黑羊”，实际是指集体中的败类、败家子。它源于英国古代的迷信传说过去英国人认为黑色羊毛的羊羔是魔鬼的化身，因此牧羊人总觉 得一只黑羊挤在一群白羊中很不吉利。黑色的羊毛也值不了多少钱，被当成无用的东西。这样black sheep就转义为“无用之人，败家子”。相当于汉语的“害群之马”。

　　（3）历史上还有两个Black Thursday，一是指1851年2月6日的星期四，当时澳大利亚发生了一场特大森林火灾，火到之处，一片焦黑；一是指1943年10月14日，也是个 星期四美德空军在德国史温盗佛镇上空发生激战，战火激烈，两败俱伤，史称该日为Black Thursday.

（1）前面已经介绍了yellow book“黄皮书”这里也有blue book（蓝皮书），是指英国国会的出版物因书皮为蓝色而得名。blue print本来是指复制建筑物图样的蓝图，现可引伸来指任何周祥的计划。

（2）在英语中。blue的社会内涵意义较多。blue可用来表示社会地位高有权势或出身名门的贵族等。blue stocking（女学者或女才子），则是来自18世纪的一种现象。当时英国文学社的女成员们，常穿蓝色袜子，因此用blue stocking来借指有学问，有才华的妇女。blue ribbon更是荣誉的象征，源自英国最高荣誉Carter嘉德勋章的蓝色授带，因而它代表的是“荣誉，实力”。
