a bit和a little都有“一点、少许”之意。
Well, Mrs Green, may be he has caught a bit of cold.
There’s a little (=bit of) time left.

That’s a bit expensive. Can I try them on, please?
He ran a little faster than me.

a little water(有一点水)
注意:
not a l||ittle 和not a bit的意思完全不同,||前者是“许多、很”,后者是“一点儿也不”、“||毫不”。试对比:

It’s not a little cold.天很冷。 最后他们终||于抓到了那个小偷。
This skirt is a little (a bit) large.
Why not drink a littl||e (a bit of) orange?
not ||a bit 与not a little的意义恰恰相反,前者||相当于not at all“一点也不”之意,后者则相当于quite“很||、非常”之意,例如:
I’m not a little hungry.
I’m not a bit hungry.
In spite of her hostility, she was attracted to him.
The blunt comment made Richard laugh in spite of himself.
I wouldn't trust them in spite of all their la-di-da manners.
He despised William Pitt, notwithstanding the sim||ilar views they both held.
His relations with colleagues, differences of opinion notwithstanding, were unfailingly friendly.
