读《年轻》后记

Youth

Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind. It is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees. It is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep spring of life.

Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exits in a man of 60, more than a boy of 20.nobody grows merely by the number of years; we grow old by deserting our ideas.

Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust1 bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.

Whether 60 or 16, there is in every human being’s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from infinite, so long as you are young.

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with the snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you’ve grown old, even at 20, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there’s hope you may die young at 80.

一旦天线倒塌，锐气便被冰雪覆盖，玩世不恭、自暴自弃油然而生，即使年方二十，实已垂垂老矣；然则只要树起天线，捕捉乐观信号，你就有望在八十高龄告别尘寰时仍觉年轻!

说得多好！字里行间未见有任何夺人眼球的华丽词藻，但却字字恰到好处句句都鉚到了点子之上，还能有什么话语比它更贴切和让“年轻”更具感召力、更让人为之而动容的？真的太棒太精辟了，我为之惊叹不已！那境界之高，其寓意之深刻真是可见一般。意会一下吧，相信年轻的根本精神亦就在于此，因为年轻是极具魅力的，不是吗？！那何又为魅力？词典上说，魅力是一种“很吸引人的力量！”这种“很吸引人的力量”应该是人人需要的正能量，过去需要，今天不更越发的需要？！至此，我想要表达的是塞缪尔・乌尔曼的这篇《年轻》难道不正是现下大家该拿来阅读之佳作？难道文章的这种精神、这种理念还不足以值得我们去欣赏、去学习、去发扬和用来鞭策每一个自己？！我的回答：必须的

其实，青春就是这样，不听劝，瞎折腾，享过福，吃过苦，玩过票，碰过壁，使劲折腾，折腾累了，才发现自己转了一个大圈儿，却又回到了原地。可是，却从不后悔，也并不埋怨，因为不转这个圈儿，我可能永远都不知道“原地”在哪里。

所以，《年轻》一文告诉我们的，还是要我们心中永远不要熄灭憧憬之火、和追求理想（无论大小、只要自己认定就行）的勇气。这和年龄没有关系。人生能有几回搏？灯蛾扑火之搏，如果它是带着智慧来拼搏的，如果它果真那么热爱明亮的火焰，那我认为它可称伟大了，非常人所能做到。
