Such cross- cultural communication sometimes can be difficult. They are originated from misunderstanding, discrimination, or merely unfamiliar with other culture. The influences of such misunderstanding are usually negative. For instance, negotiation with foreign partners may be prevented due to lacking of relevant knowledge of their culture.
Then what can we do to decrease, if can not eliminate such misunderstanding? First and foremost, it is fundermental to get in touch with different culture so as to know more. We can take advantage of network, as well as magzines and other materials to master more knowledge of other cultures.
In this age, cross- cultural communication is inevitable. Thus, it is important and necessary to take part in such trend and communicate effectively.

The cultural difference between China and Western countries has been too complex a problem to explain in so short an essay.However,I would like to have a discussion over it in my own words.
My opinion is that more and more common ideas and values are being shared by all nations with the process of globalization,these values may include liberty,safety,prosperity,equality,fraternity and so on,even though,it is still a question to what extent these ideas are accepted,or how they are reevaluated,under a pure oriental background.I do not suggest that one cultural system is superior,or inferior than the other,but there does exist something that deeply rooted within the mind of Chinese,as well as that of Anglo-Saxon as a whole,even the experience of immigration and inculturation can not remove it completely.One interesting personnel may be related to this topic is Yao Ming,the giant basketball player now playing on Houston Rockets,In his biography he recalled it was how difficult for him to yell in matches at the beginning."Basketball shall not be played silently here"his coach said,"I understand that it is very impolite in Chinese culture to yell,but if you don't,I will yell at you".

Globalization creates conditions for widening international exchanges,strengthening mutual understanding between nations,expanding cultural,educational,and scientific cooperation between nations and countries,enjoying the cultural achievements of people around the world which encourages the process of modernization and the enrichment of national culture.
However,these conditions also create the possible danger of diminishing the national culture with a negative impact on the pre123vation of national identity.Through globalization and an open door policy,erroneous concepts and a lowering of ethical standards,a selfish and individualistic lifestyle and harmful cultural products can easily be imported into the country.At present,modern information technology which in the main is controlled by US is hourly and intensively disseminating US ideology,way of life,culture and films across the world.Even US food is promoted so that some people consider globalization as global Americanization.
During the process of economic globalization,inequality between developed and developing countries has been increasing and the gap between the rich and the poor has become wider,most of the result of globalization go to assist developed countries.Globalization does not pose equal interests and risks to all nations.With an overwhelming advantage compared to most of the developing countries in terms of finance and the level of science and technology,developed ca123alist countries control the situation of economic globalization.
For these reasons,globalization is a fierce and complicated struggle in both cultural and ideological fields.We take the initiative in international economic integration but also have to take the initiative in fighting to keep our distinct culture resisting pro-foreign and cross-bred phenomena,and overcoming the psychology of preferring money over ethical values.

The culture differences between the East and West
As we know ,there are so many differences between culture of the East and West that I can not list all of their different aspects.I will focus on the differences of diet custom and teaching system.For your better understanding ,I will set examples of China and America.
It is no doubt that it is a tradition to use chopsticks for Chinese.But people in America prefer to forks and knives.This different result is based on different food they like .Americans choose to eat beefsteak,bread,and salad,while Chinese people choose noodles ,pancakes and rice.What is more,the custom of drinking tea in China and drinking coffee in America are stand out particularly.However,there is a trend that the food in both countries has been mixture.For example,the coffee and bread have introduced to China.The famous KFC is very popular at children.
The gap of teaching system between China and America is big.Chinese students always complain about their homework.Too much homework has limited the time to exercise and relax.They have to recite many things as to get a high mark.Homework comes the first to them.
In my opinion,the study in America is more interesting .Teachers pay attentions to training students skills in thinking in realastic life not to emphasis on the importances of memories.In a addition,the rate of going to school ,the salary of teaching ,and the job of gruduates are quite different,too.I should say that Chima government should make great efforts to improve its teaching syetem.I am also expect to be one day ,the West give more cheersto our country.
