although与though的区别

一although和though都是从属连词，引导让步状语从句，意为：虽然、尽管。在一句话中，用了although/though,不能再用but,但可用yet。例如：

Although he is young, he is wise.他虽年轻，但很聪明。

Though it was snowing, I went out.尽管在下雪，我还是出去了。

although和though的区别是：

1) "Although"常置于句首，语气比though强，且正规，多用于书面语中。

2)though还可用作副词(=however),置于句尾，而although则不可。如：She promised to come, yet hasn't turned up until now, though.她虽然答应来，但到现在还没来

3)though可用于部分倒装句 式中，而although则不可。

如：Strange though it may seem, she still accepted the flower. =Although it seems strange, she still accept the flower尽管这可能看起来有点奇怪，她还是接受了花。

能引导让步从句的同义词组有：

even if和even though意为：即使，即令……也……；

even if的从句中含有强烈的假定性，even though则多以从句之内容为前提。

Even if I have to sell my house, I'll keep my business.即使我卖掉房子，我还是要继续我的事业。

Even if he is poor, she loves him.(=He may be poor, yet she loves him.)

即使他很穷，她还是爱他。

这些连词均可表示“虽然，尽管”之意。

though和although在意义上几乎毫无区别，但在习惯用法上这两个词仍有以下一些差异：1.though可引出倒装语序的让步状语从句，although 则不能。2.though可与even连用，although则不能；在as though结构中，只用though，不能用although。3.though可以置于从句末，而although则不能。4.引出省略句时，通常用though。

although与though在意义上相似，但文体上是比较正式用词，语气比though强。

as引出让步状语从句只用于倒装语序结构中，语气强于上述两个连词。

even though（＝even if），意为“即使”，引导让步状语从句。though也引导让步状语从句，意为“虽然”；even though有退一步设想的意味，与though不同。though引导的句子所说的是事实，even though引导的句子所说的则不一定是事实。例如：

∙ He will not tell the secret even though（even if）he knows it．

即使他知道这个秘密，他也不肯说出来。

∙ He will not tell the secret though he knows it．

他虽然知道这个秘密，但他不会说出来。

在引导让步状语从句时，although等于though.都是“虽然/尽管”的意思。例如：

We went for a walk although/though it was raining. 尽管下雨，我们还是去散步了。

even 用作副词，通常用于加强语气，能够起到增强语气的作用。意思是： 甚至，还 。 

Even a child can understand it. 连小孩子都懂得这一点。

although, in spite of,even though 能够同等互换,

     他连书都没有打开过。 

     It was cold even in August.  甚至八月也很冷。 

     He speaks French even better than English.   他的法语比英语说得更好。

Though与although的区别

although和though同义，在一般情况下，可以互换使用。只是though较普遍，常用于非正式的口语或书面语中，而although则较为正式。另外although语气比though重，常用以强调让步概念。

Though [Although] it was raining，we went there. 虽然下着雨，但我们还是去了那儿。

Though [Although] it was barely four o’clock, the lights were already on. 尽管才四点钟，灯已经亮了。

Though [Although] we are poor, we are still happy. 我们虽然穷，仍然很快活

Though/Although my car is very old, I don't want to buy a new one.

虽然我的汽车很旧，但我不想买一辆新的。

He insisted on doing it although I warned him not to.

虽然我警告他不要做，但他仍然坚持要做。

②even能和though组合表示强调，但even不能和although组合。因此，不能说even although,在这里even though=even if(no matter if; though即使……也……)

e.g. Even if/Even though we could afford it, we wouldn't go abroad for our vocation.

即使我们付得起这笔钱，也不出国度假。

③当让步状语从句指某种假设情况时，通常用though,而不用although。

e.g. Though all the world were against me, I should still hold to my opinion.

④though可以独立用作副词，常放在句末，意为all the same (还是；仍然)或however(可是；然而)，而although无此用法。

⑤though引导让步状语从句时可以倒装，而although从句则不能。

e.g. Bravely though they fought, they had no chance of winning.

相同点：

①在although和though引导的让步状语从句中，主句里不可用but,若要强调前后两部分的对比意义，可在主句前加yet或still。

e.g. Although/Though he has a lot of money, yet/still he is unhappy.

他虽然有很多钱，但并不幸福。

②although和though引导让步状语从句时，常采用省略形式。

e.g. Although tired (=Although he was tired), he kept on working.

虽然很疲劳，但他继续工作。

The problem, though complicated(=though it is complicated), can be solved without much difficulty.
