Many domestic and abroad scholars have worked on the research of The Thorn Birds from different aspects. Former scholars have researched more about female’s self-consciousness and hero's and heroine's love. They study the significances of female‘s self-consciousness through the analysis of four female (Mary, Fiona, Maggie, and Justine images of their living, social environment and twisted love. Using the theory of Freud to analyze the character of the hero Ralph, also investigating the influence of religion on the society and personal fate. Of course, there are many researches from other aspects. The value of The Thorn Birds is infinite.
主要研究内容
The article will be divided into three parts, the first part mainly introduces the author’s experience, the content of the works, the background of creation and work’s status and influence, the second part analyze personal characters through the character's experience and a detailed description of words, action, and emotion. .Then combining literature with my own views to demonstrate connection between personal characters and individual fates in The Thorn Birds. The third part to explain the significances of the work and the reason that the work had a profound effect on my outlook.
