1.Course Overview Course Description：
Ecological tourism(Eco-tourism is a new cross discipline.It is a new and sustainable development of tourism products based on the principle of ecology as a pointer, to gain social and economic benefits and promote the protection of the ecological environment taking the ecological environment and the natural environment as the object.This course is an elective course for tourism management major.The contents of the course include the development and characteristics of the ecological tourism, theoretical basis,the formation and behavior of ecological tourist,the formation, types and protective development of ecological tourism resources, the management of ecological tourism industry, the capacity and protection of ecological tourism environment,etc. Through learning the course, students could apply the viewpoint of ecological tourism theory and system to analysis ecological tourist, ecological tourism resources, ecological tourism and ecological tourism environment,
master the methods of protective development of ecological tourism resources, ecological tourism industry management and the measurement and control ecological tourism environmental capacity, understand and grasp the ecological tourism in the high theoretical degree, and cultivate the ability to analyze and solve the problems encountered in the practice using the point of ecological tourism.

The prerequisite courses include Economics, Management, Tourism Conspectus, Hotel Management, Travel Agency Management, Scenic Spot Development and Management，Tourism Marketing, Tourism Geography, Tourism Psychology, Tourism Resources Planning and Development,etc. 2. Student Learning Outcomes
The system study of the course can enable students to understand and master the basic concept of ecological tourism, basic theory and basic content more comprehensively and systematically, further understand the development trend of tourism industry and the development of ecological tourism and cultivate students' environmental consciousness and ecological philosophy, consumer awareness.Specific requirements are:
(1Through learning the course, students could apply the viewpoint of ecological tourism theory and system to analysis
ecological tourist, ecological tourism resources, ecological tourism and ecological tourism environment, master the methods of protective development of ecological tourism resources, ecological tourism industry management and the measurement and control ecological tourism environmental capacity and understand and grasp the ecological tourism in the high theoretical degree.(2Be able to comprehensively use learned basic theories and research methods, view and analysis various practical problems faced in the development of ecotourism, grasp the basic situation of the development of eco-tourism from the overall,and make some judgment and thinking about the difficult and hot issues in the practice of ecological tourism.(3Combined with the development trend of ecological tourism in the world, introduce the present situation and development trend of ecological tourism development at home and abroad to students, broaden their horizons and enable the students to understand the world ecotourism the latest developments.(4Through the course study, on the basis of understanding and understanding of the ecological tourism, the cultivation of students' environmental awareness and ecological concept, consumer awareness. 3. Course Expectations

To complete all the courses, students must attends class on time,
listen carefully, positively participates in the classroom discussion, practice and the test. This course will include more exercise, discussion, group work shows and other activities.Classroom performance and attendance are the component of performance assessment.
Students should finish the regular exercises on time.These assignments require students to submit in writing. Master the content of the curriculum requirements only in time to submit the work. Deferred submission must early get the teacher's permission. Students should complete a certain amount of reading literature and background information, case analysis and theoretical discussion assigned by the teacher，most of which require the completion of the group cooperation. These tasks can deepen the understanding of the course content, promote the mutual learning between students, and guide the further discussion of some problems and theories. 4. Assignments
Through the course study, students are required to master the basic theory of ecological tourism, understand the specific practice and application of eco-tourism theory as well as the combination of relevant cases and understand the current situation of the development of eco-tourism in China and abroad. Emphasis should be on the understanding of the concept of ecological tourism, the
basic knowledge of the ecological tourism resources, ecological tourist and ecological tourism industry to understand the relationship among the three elements and their internal, in order to reserve the necessary knowledge for working in the field of environmental protection and ecological tourism planning, development, management and education in the future.The core content include the emergence, development and characteristics of ecotourism; ecological tourism theory basis and ecological tourism system; the formation and cultivation of ecological tourist; the protective exploitation of ecotourism resources; the industrial development of ecological tourism industry and the protection of ecotourism environment,etc.
The emergence, development and characteristics of ecological tourism: introduce the environmental conditions resulting from the term of ecological tourism, the different definition of ecological tourism and several core principles of ecotourism.
Ecological tourism theory basis and ecological tourism system: The theory of relation between man and nature, ecological aesthetics theory, sustainable development theory and four segments of ecological tourism system.
Ecological tourist: the difference between ecological tourist and general tourists, the responsibility of ecological tourist and
segmentation of ecological tourism market, the specific needs and behavior characteristics of different types of ecological tourist, the motivation, the important factors affecting the motivation and the cultivation methods of ecological tourist.
Ecological tourism resources: the concept and characteristics, formation and types and the protective exploitation of ecological tourism resources.
Ecological tourism industry: the basic structure and components of ecological tourism industry, the main business groups involved in ecological tourism industry, the role and status of quality control in the ecological tourism industry.
Ecological tourism environment: the concept of ecological tourism environment, the characteristics and types of ecological tourism environment, a variety of favorable and adverse effects for the destination environment carrying out the ecological tourism, the reasons for causing environmental problems and the related method and measures. 5.
