从前宋国一个农夫担心自己田里的禾苗长不高，就天天到田边去看。三天过去了，禾苗没见动静。他想出一个办法，就急忙奔到田里，把禾苗一棵棵拔高一些。回去对儿子说禾苗长高了一大截，儿子跑到田里一看，禾苗全都枯死了。
