A Valuable Gift
Tom, a little boy, planned to buy his mother a bunch of flowers as a birthday gift. He decided to earn the money for the gift by himself. So Tom went to asked his neighbors if he could do anything for them in exchange for some money. But the neighbors told him that they could not offer any work to him. Tom was disappointed. His mother’s birthday was coming soon and he thought that his plan might failed. When Tom was about to give up the plan, an old lady came to him and asked whether he would water her garden every other day. Tom accepted the job happily and went to the old lady’s house early the next morning. He took good care of the garden. The old lady was very satisfied and introduced
him to her friends for more work. In a few weeks, he got enough money to buy the flowers. When Tom gave the gift to his mother on her birthday, she was very surprised. Tom told his mother how he earned the money for the gift. His mother gave him a big hug and said that it was the most valuable gift she had ever received.
