译文：

袁隆平，江西省九江市德安县人。国内外著名农业科学家，中国杂交水稻产业的开创者和领导者，被誉为“杂交水稻之父”。袁隆平被联合国粮农组织聘为杂交水稻国际发展的首席顾问。先后30次赴国际水稻研究所开展合作研究和技术交流，10多次赴印度、越南、缅甸、菲律宾、孟加拉国等国指导杂交水稻发展。20世纪80年代以来，中国已在国内外举办了50多期杂交水稻国际培训班，为40多个发展中国家培训了约2000名政府官员和农业技术专家。袁隆平致力于杂交水稻技术的研究、应用和推广，发明了“三线法”籼稻杂交水稻，成功研制了“两线法”杂交水稻，创造了超级杂交水稻技术体系。提出并实施了“种三产四丰产工程”，出版了6部专著，利用超级杂交水稻技术成果发表了60多篇中英文论文。
