家乡变化

　　Dear Michael,

　　You want to know sthe changes about my hometown. You know, great changes have taken place since 60 years ago.

　　In the past, the living conditions were very poor. There were not many buses or cars, and the roads were narrow. Usually, a big family was crowed into a small, dark house. Most families couldn’t get enough food. The communications were simple and slow. People kept in touch with their friends and relatives far away mainly by letter or telegram.

　　Thanks to the government, our hometown has developed rapidly in recent years. The living conditions are much better and more comfortable. The roads are wide. Some people have their own cars. Most of the people have lived in big new houses. Quite a few adults have mobile phones. Because of many good policies, I think our lives will become better and better.

　　My Hometown

　　My hometown lies on the Plain of North China. The famous Grand Canal of China is to the east of our village. This is the place where my forefathers have lived for generations. When I was a boy I often played with other children near the bank of the canal. I watched the passing boats, and I wished to travel all over the world.

　　我的家乡位于华北平原。中国著名的京杭大运河是我们村庄的东边。这是我的祖先们世世代代居住的地方。当我还是个小孩时,我经常和别的孩子在运河的岸边上玩耍。我看着过往的船只,我想环游世界。

　　There are about 800 people in our village. A pond, teeming with fish, lies in front of the village. I used to swim there in summer and skate in winter. It was in this pond that I spent the happiest days of my childhood.

　　我们村子大约有800人。村子前面的一个池塘里充满着鱼。夏天的时候，我过去常常在那里游泳在，冬天的时候就滑冰。我童年最快乐的日子就是在这个池塘里。

　　To the north of our village are great fields. When spring comes, the crops begin to grow, turning the fields green. When crops turn yellow in autumn, the peasants start to harvest them.

　　我们村以北是伟大的田野。当春天来时，庄稼开始生长，把整个田野变成绿色。当庄稼在秋天变黄时，农民就开始收获了。

　　Between the canal and our village is an orchard. There were only a few kinds of fruit trees years ago, but now the peasants grow many sorts, including peach, plum, apple and orange.

　　我们村和运河之间是一个果园。几年前只有几种果树，但现在农民种植了很多品种，有桃、李、苹果和橙。

　　The majority of the villagers have become much better off. About a quarter of the households have bought television sets and tape recorders. A reading-room and a library have been built. Every evening many young people go to the evening school to learn science and read newspapers.

　　大部分的村民生活已经变好了。大约四分之一的家庭买了电视机和录音机。一个阅览室和一个图书馆已经建成。每天晚上很多年轻人去夜校学习科学知识和阅读报纸。

　　Two roads cross in front of our village. On summer evenings, people sit under the trees enjoying the cool breeze. The houses in our village are well laid out.

　　在我们村前有条十字路。夏夜,人们坐在树下享受凉爽的微风。这是我们村子里制定好了的约定。

　　By the end of last year, 35 students in our village had graduated from senior middle school, and 12 students were enrolled at colleges.

　　到去年年底,我们村里已有35名学生高中毕业，有12名被大学录取了。

　　This is my hometown. I hope you will make a visit here one day.

　　这就是我的家乡。我希望有一天你能来这里参观。

　　My hometown is Xiamen. I was born there twelve years ago. Now I live in Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province. Xiamen is a beautiful city that many people visit there. The whole city is clean and tidy. I lived in downtown. It’s near to the port, where is the busiest place, because thousands of people go to the Gulangyu. Gulanyu is a small island. There are many distinctive buildings and paths there. You may get lost in so many paths, but you don’t have to worry. And every path has its own beautiful scenery. I love my beautiful hometown.

　　我的家乡是厦门，十二年前我出生在那里。我现在住在福建省的首府福州市。厦门是一个很漂亮的城市，每年都有很多游客到这里旅游。整个城市都很干净整洁。过去，我就住在厦门市里，离码头很近。码头是最繁忙的地方，因为每天都有成千上万的人从那里去鼓浪屿。鼓浪屿是一个小岛，岛上有许多特色建筑和小道。行走其中，你可能会迷路，但是不必担心，每一条小道都有独特的美丽景色。我爱我美丽的家乡。

　　My hometown is a small town,that is beautiful,the green trees and colorful.Spring,the branches out the pale green branches,grass lazily opened his eyes,the flowers are in full bloom,red,blue,yellow,purple,various and colorful.Flowers are an intoxicating fragrance,attracted a large group of butterflies,butterfly dance in the air,the picture is really beautiful!I love my hometown!

　　我的家乡 My Hometown

　　Before I go to middle school, I live with my grandparents in the hometown. It is the most beautiful place for me in the world. The environment is so clean. There are so many trees around me and the water is so clean that I can even see fish swimming. Sometimes I will go boating with my friends in the small river. I enjoy the birds singing in the mountain. There will be some special festivals as the traditional culture. Then people in the village will prepare some shows and sometimes a huge parade will be held. The kids will join the parade happily. I love my hometown and no matter where I go, it is always on my mind.

　　在我去上中学之前，我和祖父母住在老家。对于我来说那是世界上最美丽的地方。地方很干净，周围有很多的树木，水也很干净，我甚至可以看到鱼在水中游来游去。有时我会和我的朋友们在小河上划船。我喜欢听鸟儿在山中唱歌。因为传统文化的原因，所以村里会为此准备一些特别的节目。有时会举行大游行。孩子们也就高兴地将加入游行队伍。我爱家乡 My Hometown'>我的家乡。无论我去哪里，它都会活在我的心中。
