Thisisoneofthemostfamousofallthesonnets,justifiablyso.Butitwouldbeamistaketotakeitentirelyinisolation,foritlinksinwithsomanyoftheothersonnetsthroughthethemesofthedescriptivepowerofverse;theabilityofthepoettodepictthefairyouthadequately,ornot;andtheimmortalityconveyedthroughbeinghymnedinthese'eternallines'.Itisnoticeablethatherethepoetisfullofconfidencethathisversewillliveaslongastherearepeopledrawingbreathupontheearth,whereaslaterheapologisesforhispoorwitandhishumblelineswhichareinadequatetoencompassalltheyouth'sexcellence.Now,perhapsintheearlydaysofhislove,thereisnosuchself-doubtandtheeternalsummeroftheyouthispreservedforeverinthepoet'slines.Thepoemalsoworksatarathercuriouslevelofachievingitsobjectivethroughdispraise.Thesummer'sdayisfoundtobelackinginsomanyrespects(tooshort,toohot,toorough,sometimestoodingy,butcuriouslyenoughoneisleftwiththeabidingimpressionthat'thelovelyboy'isinfactlikeasummer'sdayatitsbest,fair,warm,sunny,temperate,oneofthedarlingbudsofMay,andthatallhisbeautyhasbeenwonderfullyhighlightedbythecomparison。这是整体赏析
