Life in the city is very different from life in the villages and on the farms. People in large cities are much more careful to respect the privacy of the individual. Sometimes this feeling seems to be one of indifference, but it is a convention of city life to curb one‘s curiosity about the personal affairs of strangers. Villagers and farmers are likely to show a great deal of interest in all their neighbors. Opportunities for bright young people are greater in the cities and there has been a steady stream of hopeful jobseekers from the villages and farms to the large metropolitan areas.

When I was in high school, I felt so bored about the English class, because I did not understand it. Miss Li was my English teacher, she found my attitude to her class. One day, when the class was over, she asked me to her office. She did not blame me for sleeping in her class, instead, she smiled and asked me the opinion about her class. I said her class was a little boring and I thought she would be angry. Miss Li smiled and agreed with me. She asked me to give some opinion. I was so surprised that she was so kind. Miss Li improved her class and I became very active.

as the second problem,the world is short of resources now.in daily life,we need water,rock oil,coal and other things.day after day,the resources disappear fast.and they won‘t appear.because most of them are not renewable resources.
When we have something annoy us, we will naturally to find someone to talk about it, the first choice is friend. We will not talk about it in front of our parents, because we don't want them to worry about us. Friend is so important in our life, we have many friends, we will share our happiness and sorrow with them, we hang out together, in a word, friends are part of our life. What will happened if someone have no friend? We hear from the news that the crime people are isolated by others, most of them have no friends, their view point about the world is distorted. Without friends, people have no where to relieve their emotion, the long time's depression of the emotion distract people from the normal life. So friends are very important, we can’t live without friends.

"I am", thought the Wumpalump. I am love, I am joy, I am peace. Nothing there is but me. "I am" all things...
And with the Wumpalump was the Word. And the Word was the Wumpalump.
And the Wumpalump sat and he sat and he sat. And he felt sad. "I am" all things he thought, but "I am" nothing... for no one there is to share with.
And the sadness the Wumpalump felt grew and grew and grew. The small sorrow became a gnawing pain, a bottomless ache, a raging hunger. And when the Wumpalump could no longer bear the terrible emptiness he felt... the Word spoke.
The Wumpalump with a great deep love gave Himself...
The heavens were filled with an infinitude of little Wumpalumps. "I am" they all shouted in glee! For the first time the Wumpalump felt all love, all joy, all peace for within him these things were shared and thus multiplied.
And with great love the Wumpalump stretched forth his hand and with Himself painted the heavens in beautiful blues and sparkles of gold. With laughter and warmth he placed a brilliant light to rule the day and a softer glow to rule the night. Embracing his fullness he brought forth the earth and with tears of joy created the oceans. He fashioned whales and moving creatures of all kinds. He set birds in the sky to dance amongst the clouds.
And when he had finished the Wumpalump stood back and observed all he had become and with satisfaction... he saw it was good.
And the Wumpalump was tickled pink for now his greatest work was to be. "Let us make the little lumps in our image," he said. And from the dust of the ground he brought forth a little lump. He breathed into him all love, all joy, all peace. "I am!" the little lump cried. And the Wumpalump caused a deep sleep to fall on the first little lump and from him created the second little lump.
"Be fruitful and multiply," he told them. And with tender care, he touched them as they touched each other.
Edward Wellman bade good-bye to his family in the old country headed for a better life in America. Papa handed him the family's savings hidden in a leather satchel. "Times are desperate here," he said, hugging his son goodbye. "You are our hope."
Edward boarded the Atlantic freighter(货船) offering free transport to young men willing toshovel(铲) coal in return for the month-long journey. If Edward struck gold in the Colorado Rockies, the rest of the family could eventually join him.
For months, Edward worked his claim tirelessly, and the small vein of gold provided a moderate but steady income. Leaving Ingrid behind before he could officially court her had been his only regret in accepting this American adventure. He had secretly hoped to make Ingrid his wife. Finally, he wrote to Papa, asking him to help make this dream come true.
After nearly a year, a telegraph came with a plan to make his life complete. Mr. Henderson had agreed to send his daughter to Edward in America. Because she was a hardworking young woman with a good mind for business, she would work alongside Edward for a year to help the mining business grow. By then both families could afford to come to America for their wedding.
Edward's heart soared with joy as he spent the next month trying to make the cabin into a home. At last, the day he had been waiting for his whole life arrived. With a bouquet of fresh-picked daisies in hand, he left for the train depot(仓库，停车场). Steam billowed and wheels screeched as the train crawled to a stop.
His heart beat with eager anticipation, then stopped with a sinking thud. Not Ingrid, but her older sister Marta, stepped down from the train.
Edward only stared - dumbfounded. Then with shaking hands he offered Marta the bouquet. "Welcome," he whispered, his eyes burning. A smile etched across her plain face.
"I was pleased when Papa said you sent for me," Marta said, looking into his eyes briefly, before dropping her head again.
"I'll get your bags, "Edward said with a fake smile. Together they headed for the buggy(双轮单座轻马车).
Mr. Henderson and Papa were right. Marta did have a great grasp of business. Within 6 months, their assets doubled.
Her delicious meals and quiet smile graced the cabin with a wonderful woman's touch. But the wrong woman, Edward mourned as he collapsed onto his cot each night. Why did they send Marta? Would he ever see Ingrid again? Was his lifelong dream to have her as his wife forsaken?
For a year, Marta and Edward worked and played and laughed, but never loved. Once, Marta had kissed Edward on the cheek before retiring to her room. He only smiled awkwardly. From then on, she seemed content with their exhilarating hikes in the mountains and long talks on the porch after suppers.
